XCAT SAIL Detachable Rigid Catamaran

The X CAT makes tacking a breeze as it has an automatic Displacement for a break in the water.

And it's fast: Force 1-2 = 10 KPH, f. 2-3 = 20 KPH, f 4-5 = 28 KPH and a unique mainsail that generates very high power with its ingenious loop system. 

The XCAT does this with finesse by counter-steering automatically. Simply step into the wind and shift your weight to the front and the XCAT will do the rest automatically: the boat turns into the wind, turns back, the rudder steers aft to port or starboard and the boat moves forward again. When it turns into the wind again, it repeats the whole cycle, but in the other direction. The result: the XCAT swings into the wind between 15° to port and 15° to starboard, and works even when a storm suddenly develops. Safety that only the XCAT can offer.

Genoa head sail instead of a jib provides excellent power and can be furled quickly with the self furling endless furling system.

The XCAT does not need a centreboard.

The hull shape with its integral keels prevents the hull from being manoeuvred to the limit.

Advantages

Thanks to the hull keels, the XCAT is incredibly smooth in the water and has virtually an integrated self-steering system. On the XCAT, you can simply let go of the rudder and control the boat by shifting your weight. Move your weight forward and the XCAT rises into the wind, regardless of the direction it is coming from. Move your weight aft and the XCAT moves away from the wind. That's simply amazing.

On longer trips it's exhausting to always have to concentrate on steering.
